Restorers have returned the Baroque altar of the Szent Kereszt-templom to its original appearance. During the restoration process, specialists removed layers of paint and varnish that had accumulated over centuries and stripped away monochromatic overpainting to reveal the original colors.

The team also treated wood damaged by insects by disinfecting, conserving, and strengthening the material. The current appearance of the altar reflects 95-97 percent of its original Baroque state, according to the Archdiocese of Alba Iulia.
