SECAM Launches Africa’s Preparations for 2028 Vatican Ecclesial Assembly

The Catholic Church in Africa is set to begin its continental preparations for the October 2028 Vatican Ecclesial Assembly with a first preparatory seminar scheduled for August 3–5 in the Catholic Archdiocese of Addis Ababa , Ethiopia. The seminar will bring together Catholic Church leaders, theologians, pastoral agents, and representatives of Episcopal Conferences and ecclesial institutions from across Africa and its Islands. The seminar will review the synodal experience across Africa following the Synod on Synodality.
