Second International Preparatory Conference for “WYD Seoul 2027” underway

Delegates from more than 100 countries are attending the second International Preparatory Conference for World Youth Day Seoul 2027 in South Korea. The conference runs from September 14 to 17 at the Nest Hotel in the Yeongjongdo area of Incheon.

The event includes approximately 300 delegates, members of the organizing committee, and volunteers. On Wednesday, September 16, Archbishop Peter Soon-taick Chung presided over a Mass in English at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul.

The conference began Monday with presentations from the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life and the International Youth Advisory Body. These sessions invited participants to reflect on the meaning of World Youth Day. On Tuesday, September 15, Korean dioceses held a Diocesan Expo to present their histories, programs, and plans for welcoming pilgrims. Aran Kim, a delegate for the Diocese of Andong, said the expo allowed the diocese to introduce itself to international delegates.
