The Diocese stated that this approach does not mean replacing schools with the Tungku Api, but rather integrating education with the lived experiences of students. The Diocese noted that Papuan children do not enter the classroom as blank slates, but instead bring existing knowledge including their mother tongues, stories, values, relationships, land, and culture learned from the Tungku Api.
