Parishes are asked to pray for evangelization and participate in a second collection for Home Mission Sunday on September 20.

The Diocese of Middlesbrough reported that the Church is returning to the original name for this day. A few years ago, the event was renamed Evangelii Gaudium Sunday following the Apostolic Exhortation by Pope Francis, The Joy of the Gospel. Local bishops are requesting support for this work through the upcoming collection.
