Slovenska karitas nadaljuje z zbiranjem sredstev za Nepal: MZEZ prispeval 100.000 EUR, Slovenci darovali že 10.000 EUR

Slovenian Caritas is continuing its fundraising campaign to assist victims of the floods and landslides in Nepal triggered by an ice lake outburst on August 26, 2026. The MZEZ has allocated 100,000 EUR to Slovenian Caritas to support relief efforts. To date, the public in Slovenia has donated 10,000 EUR toward the cause.

Caritas Nepal is working on the ground to provide food, hygiene products, temporary shelter, and medicine. During the first phase of relief, Caritas Nepal intends to assist 4,000 of the most affected households. The organization is currently preparing warm meals in more than 50 community kitchens and distributing emergency shelter kits containing blankets, mats, and sleeping pads, as well as solar lights and essential medicines for health centers.

The disaster has left many people without food, shelter, or basic belongings, with reports indicating high casualty numbers and destroyed infrastructure. Donors can provide specific types of aid, such as 40 EUR for a monthly family food package, 18 EUR for a family hygiene kit, 24 EUR for seasonal clothing for one person, or 21 EUR for a school kit for one student.
