Social Action evidently in action across the Archdiocese of Birmingham

Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, visited the Heart of Tamworth project on Tuesday, September 8. The visit occurred during the Archbishop's four-day trip to the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Based at the Sacred Heart Community Centre in Glascote, Heart of Tamworth is a charity established in 2012 to support residents in Tamworth and nearby areas. The center operates a cafe, a pantry, and a shop for pre-loved clothes to provide practical assistance to the community. In November 2024, the organization received The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for the work of its volunteers.

Staff from Father Hudson’s Caritas, the social care agency for the Archdiocese, attended the visit with the Archbishop.
