Spiritans Urged to Enrol in Courses at Pan-African Institution Promoting Religious Freedom

Members of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, also known as the Spiritans, are encouraged to take online courses through the African Freedom of Religion or Belief Observatory (AFORBO) to help defend religious freedom in Africa. Fr. Louison Emerick Bissila Mbila, an AFORBO co-founder and the Executive Secretary of the Spiritan Conference of Circumscriptions of Africa and the Islands (SCCAI), shared this recommendation during an interfaith dialogue workshop in Nairobi, Kenya.

The workshop, hosted by the Spiritan Province of Kenya, aims to train current and future coordinators for interreligious dialogue within Spiritan provinces and groups across Africa and the islands. During his presentation on September 8, Fr. Bissila Mbila stated that the training intends to prepare focal persons at the grassroots level and establish confidential reporting mechanisms, local mediation, and local partnerships.

The event is organized by the SCCAI in partnership with EFESIA, a Belgian association that works on Christian-Muslim friendship. The workshop is being held at the Rosa Mystica Guest House of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Ann.
