St. Matthew Parish welcomes 30 teens to inaugural youth group gathering

St. Matthew Parish in Edmonton held the first gathering of its new youth group on September 12, welcoming 30 teenagers. The event included eight youth leaders, parents, and volunteers.

Youth Group Coordinator Jacqui Linder reported that the morning included music, prayer, and the lighting of a candle to symbolize Christ. Participants learned about the life of St. Carlo Acutis, which inspired the teens to commit to acts of kindness and service in the coming weeks.

The gathering took place with the guidance of Father Joy Vadakkan Poulose, CFIC. Participants concluded the session with prayer and song, and expressed interest in inviting friends to future meetings.
