Pope Leo XIV met with new bishops on Thursday, September 10, in the Vatican to remind them that no bishop walks alone. The meeting followed a formation course organized by Vatican departments for the newly appointed bishops.

The Pope told the group that episcopal ministry does not begin with organizational tasks or a list of duties. Instead, he said it starts with a personal relationship with Christ, closeness to the people entrusted to their care, and the heart of a good shepherd.

Among the participants was Bishop Pavol Šajgalík, OFM Cap.
