Bishop Heiner Wilmer, president of the German bishops, urged European local churches to strengthen mutual listening and avoid working in isolation during efforts to reform the Church. He made these comments during a symposium in Wels, Austria, held from September 14 to 17.

The symposium brought together delegates from 28 European episcopal conferences, including Belgium, to discuss how to implement synodality across the continent.
