TANZANIA: Archbishop Angelo Accattino bids farewell to Tanzanians

Archbishop Angelo Accattino urged the people of Tanzania to maintain the country's peace and unity during his farewell message at the episcopal ordination of Vincent Mpwaji, the new auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam. The ceremony took place at the Msimbazi Grounds in Dar es Salaam.

Accattino, the former apostolic nuncio to Tanzania, spoke about his mission in the country, which lasted approximately three years and six months. He noted that Tanzania has remained stable and peaceful despite its religious and ethnic diversity, highlighting the cooperation between the government and the Catholic Church.

The archbishop stated that he and the Holy See will continue to pray for the nation. Accattino departed for Colombia on the evening of September 5, following his appointment as nuncio there.
