Deacon Gary Stone OAM shared his personal experience of recovering from cancer and peritonitis to describe his transition toward helping veterans.

While recovering at Greenslopes Hospital, Stone received a visit from Archbishop Mark Coleridge. Stone noted that doctors described his recovery as a miracle. During a later birthday greeting, the Archbishop told him that the best was yet to come.
