Pope issues new constitution for Vatican

Pope Leo XIV has signed and promulgated a new Fundamental Law of the Vatican City State, replacing the text in force since 2023. The new law meets current governance requirements and systematizes recent legal reforms. It was signed on July 31, 2026.
