Bishop Kibira urges Catholic women to raise spiritually upright children

Bishop Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale told Catholic women in the Diocese of Kasese to focus on raising spiritually upright children to protect the future of their families, communities, and the Church. During a Mass at Uganda Martyrs Kakone Parish on August 30, 2026, the bishop encouraged women to look beyond providing financial support for their households.

Bishop Kibira noted that many women carry nearly all family responsibilities because some husbands spend resources on luxuries rather than supporting their families. He stated that families and the Church can overcome modern challenges if parents raise children who are disciplined, hardworking, educated, and God-fearing.

The bishop also addressed domestic violence and poverty, attributing these issues to infidelity and laziness. He warned married couples against multiple sexual relationships, noting that unfaithfulness can lead to children being born into different domestic situations and can fuel violence within the home.
