Ulderico Lambertucci, il maratoneta dell’anima

A new book chronicles the life and long-distance running journeys of Ulderico Lambertucci, an artisan from Treia who died on June 26 at nearly 80 years old. Titled *Ulderico Lambertucci - Al passo dell’anima*, the volume was written by Michele Marinangeli and Daniele Morini with illustrations by Raffaele Gerardi.

The book details how Lambertucci began running after age 50, using walking and running as a form of traveling prayer. His documented journeys include a 12,000-kilometer trek from Macerata to Beijing in 2006 following the path of Father Matteo Ricci, a 2008 peace pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and a 2012 Coast to Coast crossing of the United States that ended at Ground Zero. His final major trek was the Loreto to Lourdes walk in 2024, completed at age 78.

Published by Edizioni San Paolo, the book was produced in collaboration with the municipality of Treia, the ColleMar-athon sports association, and the CSI. The text describes how his travels led him to receive blessings from three popes and find welcome within Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities worldwide.
