Cardinal Marc Ouellet awarded $100,000 for defamation

A Canadian court has cleared Cardinal Marc Ouellet of sexual assault allegations and ordered the plaintiff to pay him $100,000 in damages for defamation. The court found that Ouellet was a victim of slander. The decision was made on August 31, 2026.
