The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Archbishop Paul Coakley, president of the conference, called on the faithful to pray for the nation to continue healing and for the comfort of the families of those lost. He asked for the Holy Spirit to help people build a civilization of love and universal fraternity by following the example of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
