USCCB publishes homily suggestions ahead of midterm elections (USCCB)

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) released a set of homily suggestions to help priests connect the concept of faithful citizenship with Sunday readings leading up to the midterm elections. The guide, titled Preaching on Faithful Citizenship 2026-Year A, covers an eight week period from September 13 to November 1.

The USCCB stated the guide intends to support efforts for conscience formation by linking the call to faithful citizenship with lectionary readings. The Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, led by Archbishop Shelton Fabre of Louisville, prepared the suggestions after consulting with members of the Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations.
