Kitahara Satoko dubbed 'Mary of Ants Town'

Kitahara Satoko, a 22-year-old Catholic convert, was nicknamed 'Mary of Ants Town' for her charitable work with children from a homeless village. She kept a box of newspapers and magazines reporting on her work. Satoko was later declared Venerable.
