Pope Leo XIV will view the Holy Tunic on September 25 during his visit to France. The relic, believed to be the garment worn by Jesus during his Passion, will be displayed following a prayer vigil for young people at the Stade de France.

The Tunic has been kept at the Basilica of Argenteuil for over 1,200 years. While the relic undergoes regular displays every fifty years or during extraordinary occasions, Leo XIV will be the first pope to view the Tunic during a papal visit. Father Guy-Emmanuel Cariot, the former rector of the Basilica of Argenteuil, stated that the Pope is the first to see the relic since the time of Saint Peter.

The Tunic will travel approximately six kilometers from the Basilica to the Stade de France under strict security measures. Authorities plan to use ground and aerial surveillance to ensure the transport remains discreet and secure, citing the 1983 theft of the relic as a reason for heightened precautions.
