Bishop Hiiboro calls for preservation of Azande rites

Bishop Edward Hiiboro Kussala of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has called for the preservation of Azande funeral and mourning traditions that uphold human dignity and the reform of practices that impose additional burdens on bereaved families. The Bishop described a recent consultative meeting on the preservation and regulation of Azande funeral and mourning rites as “necessary, timely and deeply human.”
