Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops launches Month of the Bible

The Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops launched the Month of the Bible to encourage Christians to deepen their relationship with Scripture. The launch began with a ceremony to enthrone the Bible in the Chapel of the Catholic Secretariat in Lusaka.

During the Mass, National Biblical Coordinator Father Jonas Phiri urged the faithful to examine how their lives influence others. Reflecting on the biblical story of the man with the withered hand, Father Phiri encouraged Christians to identify spiritual weaknesses in areas such as prayer, compassion, forgiveness, and service. He also warned that tolerating negative behaviors can spread through families, communities, and the Church. Father Phiri called on the faithful to allow the Word of God to transform these areas of their lives.
