    Eucharistic ministers from the Divine Holy Spirit deanery completed their first training session this past weekend at São José Operário Parish in Divinópolis. The training included instruction from Cathedral pastor Rodrigo Botelho Moreira on several liturgical duties. Ministers learned proper body posture in the presbytery, how to handle sacred vessels such as the chalice, ciborium, and pyx, and the correct timing for approaching the altar during Mass. The session also covered the purification of vessels and the collection of fragments after communion. The program provided guidance for ministers visiting the sick and elderly in homes or hospitals. This included the specific rites for short celebrations, such as readings and prayers, as well as how to handle sensitive situations regarding hygiene and family care.

    Diocese of Divinópolis holds first Health Pastoral meeting The Diocese of Divinópolis held its first Diocesan Health Pastoral meeting on Saturday, September 26, at the diocesan curia, bringing together 55 members from 17 parishes and 6 deaneries. Diácono Marcos Antônio da Silva, the diocesan ecclesiastical assessor for the Health Pastoral, presented a service project for visiting the sick, the elderly, lonely individuals, and those in mourning. Clinical psychologist Cláudia Geralda Glaciano spoke on caring for and visiting the sick and elderly. Priests Marcos Paulo and Ydecy also discussed topics related to the pastoral ministry. Participants included 5 permanent deacons and seminarian Gustavo Rodrigo. The meeting concluded with a period for questions and an exchange of experiences followed by a lunch.
