History
This Brazilian archdiocese (Latin: Archidioecesis Rivi Nigri) is seated in the city of Ribeirão Preto. On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Pope Francis named Bishop Moacir Silva, who had been serving as Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of São José dos Campos, as the next Metropolitan Archbishop-elect of Ribeirão Preto.
