Latin-rite diocese centered on the city of Nkayi in the Republic of the Congo, erected on 5 December 1983 from the Diocese of Pointe-Noire. It is a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Pointe-Noire and its seat is the Cathedrale Saint Louis. Bishop Francois Halyday Mbouangui succeeded to the see on 1 June 2026 after serving as coadjutor.

The ecclesiastical province of Pointe-Noire in the Republic of the Congo includes the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nkayi (Latin: Nkayien(sis)), seated in the city of Nkayi.
