History

In central Chile, within the ecclesiastical province of Santiago de Chile, lies the suffragan Latin Diocese of Valparaíso (Latin: Vallis Paradisi). Its cathedral episcopal see, the Catedral de Santiago in the city of Valparaíso, Valparaíso Province, honors the Apostle St. James the Elder (Spanish: Santiago) and is a Minor World Heritage Site.
