Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese and primatial see of the Catholic Church in Chile, erected as the Diocese of Santiago de Chile by Pope Pius IV on 27 June 1561 and elevated to metropolitan archdiocese by Pope Gregory XVI on 21 May 1840. Its seat is the Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral and it is one of five Latin metropolitan sees in Chile. Archbishop Fernando Chomali Garib leads the archdiocese.

Among the five Latin metropolitan sees of the Catholic Church in Chile stands the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Santiago de Chile, known in Latin as Archidioecesis Metropolitae Sancti Iacobi in Chile.
