The Diocese of Meixian (Kaying) is a Latin diocese in Meixian, Guangdong, China, a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Guangzhou. Erected on 20 February 1929 as the Apostolic Prefecture of Kaying from the Vicariate Apostolic of Swatow, it became a vicariate in 1935 and a diocese on 11 April 1946; its first bishop was Maryknoll's Francis Xavier Ford, who died in a Chinese prison in 1952. Bishop Joseph Liao Hongqing, ordained in 2003, heads the see; in 1950 it counted about 22,819 Catholics.
