History

One of the six dioceses in the ecclesiastical province of Cologne, the Diocese of Aachen (Latin: Dioecesis Aquisgranensis) is a Latin diocese in Germany with its bishop's seat at Aachen. The incumbent bishop, Helmut Dieser, was appointed by Pope Francis on 23 September 2016.
