Father Pedro writes letter on Ceuta
Father Pedro wrote a letter addressing the complex situation in Ceuta to offer a Church perspective on the suffering caused by the recent influx of migrants. In his message, he noted that the city's coexistence and daily rhythm have been disrupted by thousands of immigrants, including many minors, appearing in the streets. Father Pedro stated that the Church should stand close to all those affected by the crisis. He expressed solidarity with local citizens who feel fear for their families, the homeless and undocumented migrants who may have been manipulated during their journey, and the public servants attempting to manage the situation. He also noted that the Church must ask authorities for clear explanations regarding the events and how the crisis will be managed.
