  • Diocese of León celebrates 25th Pastoral Week

    The Diocese of León is holding its 25th Pastoral Week at the Marista San José school. Under the theme "Here I am because you have called me," the event brings together priests, religious, and laity to reflect on vocation. The program includes presentations by philosopher Francesc Torralba, group activities, family events, and a concert by the group Ruja. The schedule also features eucaristías throughout the province, the start of an organ cycle at the León Cathedral, and an exhibition by Ángel Estrada at the church in Palat del Rey. The diocese is also implementing its diocesan synod. The synodal team is participating in an online training course from the Episcopal Conference and using worksheets in local groups to prepare a narrative report for next year's assembly.

    Bishop Luis Ángel inaugurated the exhibition "Ángel Estrada: Forma y Luz" at the Church of San Salvador in Palat del Rey. The display showcases the work of Ángel Estrada, a sculptor known for religious imagery in León during the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Museo Diocesano y de Semana Santa and the Cofradía del Santo Cristo del perdón. It marks the 60th anniversary of the blessing of the Santo Cristo del Perdón at the Parroquia de San Francisco de la Vega. Bishop Luis Ángel noted that the collection allows visitors to see a dialogue between sculpture and painting, ranging from works intended for worship to the artist's more private creations. The exhibition is open to the public at the Church of San Salvador until October 31. This is the third exhibition hosted at the site since the museum space reopened in December 2025.
