The event features guided visits to church bell towers, clocks, and organs throughout the diocese. The Diputación de Gipuzkoa organized this edition of the program to increase awareness of cultural heritage.     Caritas Gipuzkoa is holding IBILIAN in Andoain on Friday, September 25. The event is one of two programs organized to mark the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which the Church observes on September 27. The IBILIAN event is designed to help people reflect on, encounter, and celebrate the reality of migration. A second program, an encounter in Ordizia, is scheduled for Sunday, September 27.

  • Bishop Joseba Segura leads delegation to Ecuador

    Bishop Joseba Segura led a delegation of mission leaders from the Basque dioceses of San Sebastián, Bilbao, and Vitoria to Ecuador to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the death of Father Máximo Guisasola. Guisasola was one of eight missionaries from the first Basque expedition to arrive in Ecuador in 1948. He served in the Los Ríos region until he died in a traffic accident while returning to Vinces. The delegation, which included Koldo Muro, the mission delegate for the Diocese of San Sebastián, visited the Archdiocese of Portoviejo in the Manabí province. During the visit, the group met with Archbishop Eduardo José Castillo and visited the San Juan Apóstol parish. The group also met with the Christian community in Estero Seco and visited the Raíces y Sueños project in San Isidro.
