History

Raised from a diocese to its present rank in 1857, the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Valladolid (Latin: Archidioecesis Metropolitae Vallisoletanus) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Spain. The archbishop's seat is the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, and the city of Valladolid is also home to the National Sanctuary of the Gran Promesa.
