As of June 2026 the see is administered by Bishop Mario Toso, apostolic administrator, with bishop-elect Michele Morandi due to be ordained and take possession on July 12, 2026.

History
A 1986 merger of the diocese of Faenza with the diocese of Modigliana produced the Diocese of Faenza-Modigliana (Latin: Dioecesis Faventina-Mutilensis), a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Italy. The Diocese of Faenza (Faventia) had originally been a suffragan (subordinate) of the Archbishop of Ravenna; when Pope Gregory XIII raised Bologna to a metropolitan archbishopric by the bull Universi orbis of 10 December 1582, Faenza became one of Bologna's suffragan dioceses.
