History
The entire department of Seine-et-Marne forms the territory of the Diocese of Meaux (Latin: Dioecesis Meldensis; French: Diocèse de Meaux), a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in France. Until 1622 it stood as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Sens, and afterward of the Archdiocese of Paris.

Mgr Jean-Yves Nahmias blesses three new bells
Bishop Jean-Yves Nahmias blessed three new bells for the Saint-Colomban church on Friday, September 18, 2026. Following the blessing ceremony, the bells were installed in the church bell tower. The bells were cast in June at the Paccard foundry near Annecy. They are intended to serve the parish and the Val d'Europe community. Approximately 200 people attended the ceremony, which marked the completion of a project that has been in development for several years.
