The Archdiocese of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese covering Edinburgh, the Lothians, Borders, Fife and central Scotland. It was restored as a metropolitan archdiocese on 4 March 1878 by Pope Leo XIII at the restoration of the Scottish hierarchy, having evolved from earlier prefectures and vicariates apostolic. It heads its province (suffragans Aberdeen, Argyll and the Isles, Dunkeld, Galloway), with its seat at St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral, Edinburgh.

History
In Scotland, the Archdiocese of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh (Latin: Archidioecesis Sancti Andreae et Edimburgensis) belongs to the Latin Church of the Catholic Church. It serves as the metropolitan see of the province of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh, whose additional suffragan sees are Aberdeen, Argyll and the Isles, Dunkeld, and Galloway. Archbishop Leo Cushley leads the archdiocese, whose cathedral is St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh.
