‘Be courageous enough to take the leap’: Lena’s story
Lena, a Kenyan woman, is sharing her experiences as a postulant with the Redemptoristines in Dublin to mark Vocations Awareness Week. The enclosed contemplative community, often called the Red Nuns, includes sisters from nine different nationalities. Lena joined the community after completing her university studies. During her period of discernment, she received support and encouragement through online conversations with Sr. Mirjam Hugens FSO, the Director of Religious Vocations for the Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh. Reflecting on her first year of postulancy, Lena said that living in a diverse community has taught her to appreciate community life. She noted that while learning to live together with different customs and backgrounds can be challenging, the harmony within the order serves as a witness to God. She also highlighted learning about her sisters' cultures through their food.

Sister Catherine Elizabeth receives Dominican habit
Sister Catherine Elizabeth has received the Dominican habit and started her two year novitiate with the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in Nashville, Tennessee. After completing her postulancy, she began the canonical year of her novitiate. During this period, she will receive a religious name and spend time in prayer and silence to study the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Her studies include theology, Scripture, the order's rule, constitutions, and community history. Following the canonical year, she will enter an apostolic year. This stage involves immersion in the community's teaching apostolate through education classes and visits to missions. Previously, she was a student at St. Andrews University in Fife and attended vocation retreats hosted by the Archdiocese of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh.

Bishops of Scotland present 7 options for diocesan structures
The Bishops' Conference of Scotland has presented seven possible configurations for the country's eight dioceses to undergo further reflection and consultation. This step follows a request from the Holy See to consider how diocesan structures can best support the Church's mission, including evangelization and support for clergy, religious, and lay people. The proposed options include merging Argyll & the Isles with Paisley, merging Argyll & the Isles with Glasgow, merging Paisley and Galloway, merging Galloway and Motherwell, merging St. Andrews & Edinburgh and Dunkeld, or merging Motherwell, Paisley and Galloway. A seventh option suggests maintaining current structures with greater sharing and collaboration. The bishops stated these possibilities were informed by diocesan feedback summaries and are not final decisions or an agreed map for the future.
