Its seat is the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned on Main Street. Bishop Charles Azzopardi was installed as Bishop of Gibraltar on 12 September 2025.

History

In the British overseas territory of Gibraltar, the Diocese of Gibraltar (Latin: Dioecesis Gibraltariensis) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church served by about twenty priests and nine sisters. Measuring just over 6 square kilometers, it ranks among the smallest of all Catholic dioceses in the world. Charles Azzopardi was installed as bishop on 12 September 2025, and since 2023 the papal representative to Gibraltar has been the Nuncio to Great Britain, Miguel Maury Buendía.
