Latin-rite diocese covering Haiti's Grand'Anse department, erected 20 April 1972 as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince. Its seat is the Cathedral of St. Louis King of France in Jeremie. Bishop Joseph Gontrand Decoste, S.J., has led the diocese since 2009.

A suffragan see of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince, the Diocese of Jérémie (Latin: Dioecesis Ieremiopolitana; French: Diocèse de Jérémie; Haitian Creole: Dyosèz Jeremi) dates from its erection on 20 April 1972.
