The Diocese of Surabaya is a Latin Church diocese covering the northern and western parts of East Java, suffragan to the Archdiocese of Semarang. The apostolic vicariate became a diocese on January 3, 1961, and Bishop Agustinus Tri Budi Utomo has led the see since January 22, 2025.

History

On the island of Java, the Diocese of Surabaya (Indonesian: Keuskupan Surabaya; Latin: Dioecesis Surabayana) is a suffragan Latin see in Indonesia whose parishes lie in the northern and western parts of East Java province. The episcopal see is at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Surabaya. Bishop Agustinus Tri Budi Utomo now leads the diocese, succeeding the previous bishop, Mgr. Vincentius Sutikno Wisaksono.
