History
Chingleput serves as the episcopal see of the Diocese of Chingleput (Latin: Chingleputen(sis)), a Latin Church jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in India. Within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Madras and Mylapore, it holds the rank of suffragan.
