History
Carved out of the Diocese of Nellore in 1940, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Guntur lies in Andhra Pradesh, India. Msgr Thomas Pothacamury served as its first bishop, and the Most Rev. Bhagaiah Chinnabathini leads the diocese at present. Its cathedral stands in Phirangipuram.
