Latin-rite diocese in Andhra Pradesh, India, begun 10 January 1933 as a mission sui iuris from the Diocese of Hyderabad, erected as the Diocese of Bezwada on 13 April 1937 and renamed Vijayawada on 21 October 1950. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam, seated at St Paul's Cathedral in Vijayawada.

History
Seated in the city of Vijayawada within the ecclesiastical province of Visakhapatnam in India, this diocese (Latin: Viiayavadan(us)) administratively covers the geographical Krishna district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Among all the suffragan dioceses of the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada holds the largest Catholic population, 359,000.
