Erected 1 September 1886 as the Diocese of Central Bengal and renamed Diocese of Krishnagar on 7 June 1887; its origins trace to an 1855 mission sui iuris. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Holy Redeemer in Krishnanagar, Nadia.
