Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in Maharashtra, India, erected as the Diocese of Nagpur on 11 July 1887 from the Diocese of Vizagapatam and elevated to archdiocese on 19 September 1953. Its seat is St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Nagpur, and its suffragans are Amravati, Aurangabad, and the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Chanda. Catholics number about 25,500 (2014).
