History

A Latin Catholic see in South Korea, the Diocese of Chunchon (also romanized Chuncheon and Ch’unch’on, Latin: Dioecesis Chuncheonensis) is a suffragan within the ecclesiastical province of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Seoul. Its ecclesiastic authority extends over the administrative province of Gangwon-do, and its cathedral mother church is Jungnim-dong Cathedral in Chuncheon.
