The Diocese of Vilkaviškis is a Latin Church diocese in southern Lithuania, erected on 4 April 1926 from the former Diocese of Sejny. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Kaunas and has been led by Bishop Rimantas Norvila since 2002.

History

Located in the city of Vilkaviškis within the ecclesiastical province of Kaunas in Lithuania, this Roman Catholic diocese (Latin: Vilkavisken(sis)) was established on 4 April 1926 from the Diocese of Sejny. Pope Pius XII controversially divided that older diocese in two along the new countries' post-World War I border, the other portion becoming the Diocese of Łomża in Poland.
