The Archdiocese of Luanda is the metropolitan Latin Church see for Angola's capital, founded in 1596 as the Diocese of Angola e Congo and elevated to an archdiocese on 4 September 1940. It is led by Archbishop Filomeno do Nascimento Vieira Dias and oversees suffragan dioceses including Cabinda, Caxito, Mbanza Congo, Sumbe, and Viana.
