Latin-rite diocese in Latgale, eastern Latvia, erected 2 December 1995 from the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Riga, of which it is a suffragan. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rezekne, and the diocese includes the national Marian shrine of Aglona.

History
Two Latvian cities, Rēzekne and Aglona, anchor this diocese (Latin: Dioecesis Rezeknensis-Aglonensis), which belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Riga.
